Subprime Lending: You’ve Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers! Marketplace of Ideas, Oct 11
With all the attention paid to foreclosures and predatory lending in the press these days, you hear precious little about what organizations and jurisdictions are doing to combat these problems.
Until now.
On Thursday, October 11, DMI is hosting a Marketplace of Ideas event on predatory lending and what can be done about it. The keynote speaker of the event, Minnesota Attorney General, Lori Swanson, will be on hand to share what her state has done to help lead the way on progressive responses to destructive subprime lending.
Also featured will be my colleague, Sarah Ludwig, the founding executive director of NEDAP.
This is a not-to-be-missed event, not only because you will get to hear a concrete example of an anti-predatory lending legislative initiative, but because you will get to hear what is currently happening in New York and the role that other economic justice advocates can play in supportinging on-going anti predatory lending efforts and campaigns.
