Governor Spitzer and Arianna Huffington
In honor of Governor Eliot Spitzer's first week in office, we are taking a walk down memory lane to the then-Attorney General's appearance at a Drum Major Institute Marketplace of Ideas event in April of 2003.
With him were Richard Ketchum, former President and Deputy Chairman of The NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc., Dennis Rivera, President of 1199 SEIU, Richard Steier, editor of the Chief Leader and... Arianna Huffington!
The conversation is rich. You can watch it, read it, download it to your Ipod here.
The exchanges between Governor Spitzer and Arianna are especially entertaining:
Arianna: "this has been a volatile relationship... he has that power, which very few people have in this country. And he's willing to use it. That's why I am so tough on him occassionally. Because he's our only hope. So I hope, Eliot, you forgive me.
Gov Spitzer: "Absolutely."
And, of course, we're partial to Governor Spitzer's line that DMI "is going to be , over the next decade, the foundation for the ideas that hopefully will drive New York and national politics."
