The Deficit: NOWHERE NEAR UNDER CONTROL

Think about that graph anytime a Republican say the deficit is under control. Ask yourself: "Is the deficit really under control? If the deficit is under control, why is the Treasury issuing so much debt?
In the fiscal year ended September 30, 2001, the US Government had $5,807,463,412,200.06 total debt outstanding. The US Treasury issued its net debt totals a few days ago. As of September 30, 2006, total US debt outstanding was $8,506,973,899,215.23 -- an increase of 46%.
Each year for the last 5 fiscal years, the US has issued the following amount of total net debt:
2002: $555 billion
2003: $555B billion
2004: $596B billion
2005: $554B billion
2006: $574B billion
The Deficit is no where near under control
