Call for Justice

Today is the New American Opportunity Campaign's National Call-in Day regarding the Comprehensive Immigration Bill that is currently being marked up in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Senate Judiciary Committee began consideration of Senator Specter's draft bill and will continue reviewing and revising the bill for the next few weeks.

This bill is bad for immigrants. It fails to provide a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants and creates a permanent caste of second class workers.

As the Senate begins to delve into immigration reform, legislators in Washington need to hear that any Comprehensive Immigration Bill must include a path to citizenship for millions of undocumented people living and working in the U.S. today, including students. They need to hear that immigrants make our country strong and dynamic.
