To the Editor:

Re "Record Profits Elicit Big Bonuses on Wall Street" (Business Day, Jan. 12):

As I read about the $21.5 billion being handed out as bonuses on Wall Street this year and about what I considered the appallingly low tax rate that nets the city a mere $500 million of this money, I couldn't help but wonder how many of the lucky recipients, stuck in traffic before the holidays, nodded vigorously when hearing Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg call the transit workers greedy for striking.
