Tanu Kumar
As Director of Business Services at the New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN), Ms. Kumar is responsible for development and delivery of programs related to sustainable industrial development and business assistance. NYIRN is a city wide non-profit economic development organization that works to promote diverse economic opportunities for New Yorkers by strengthening the NYC’s manufacturing sector, based on principles of economic and environmental justice. As part of NYIRN’s Green Manufacturing Initiative, she manages the Spec It Green seminar series, aimed at growing the green building market and creating opportunities for local manufacturers. Prior to joining NYIRN, Ms. Kumar worked with the Center for an Urban Future and the Pratt Center for Community Development. She has a Master’s in Urban Planning from Cornell University, with a focus on urban economic development.
