Nicola Wells

Nicola Wells is an Organizer for the Fair Immigration Reform Movement, a project of the Center for Community Change. Nicola focuses her work on supporting state and local immigrants' rights campaigns and initiatives, as well as strategizing social media organizing techniques. She is co-author of FIRM's Reclaiming Our Communities Toolkit created to help fight local anti-immigrant ordinances and promote pro-immigrant resolutions. She is also co-author of a guide to online organizing tools, Integrating Online Tools into Our Traditional Organizing Toolkit.

She is the publisher of Standing FIRM!, the blog of the Fair Immigration Reform Movement. Prior to coming to the Center, Nicola worked in Paris at the national headquarters of SOS-Racisme, one of the leading immigrant rights organizations in France. Nicola began working for immigrant rights as a volunteer at Casa del Migrantes in Tijuana, Mexico in 2002 and has since researched and organized in Chicago, Philadelphia and Paris, France. Nicola is a graduate of Swarthmore College where she studied Political Science and Public Policy.
